Jewellery Care

Every jewellery creation is handcrafted with intention from lightweight polymer clay or a combination of gemstones, paired with high-quality surgical stainless steel components or rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver. With just a little extra care, your unique pieces will stay a beautiful part of your collection for many years to come!

    • Polymer clay is flexible but can break if bent or dropped. Try to avoid applying too much pressure on your earrings.

    • Gemstones can scratch or chip if they come into contact with hard surfaces, so take care not to drop or bang your jewellery against other objects.

    • Polymer clay, resin, and stainless steel are generally considered resistant to water. Extra care should be taken with gemstones.

    • Some surface treatments on polymer clay (e.g., paints, mica powders) may be more susceptible to water damage, so please ensure you remove your jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising. Reach out if you have any doubts or wish to check on your jewellery’s water resistance - I can usually tell from an image.

    • Jewellery can be affected by chemicals found in hairsprays, perfumes, and lotions. Put on your jewellery after you’ve finished applying these products and they’ve set.

    • Avoid prolonged sun exposure, as certain colours or gemstones may fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight. If your piece has a resin coating, expect some yellowing over time.

    • Use a soft, damp cloth or a cotton swab to gently wipe any dirt or makeup from the surface of clay components or gemstones. Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners.

    • Stainless steel is super low maintenance and tarnish free, but if you notice and are bothered by fingerprints or smudges, wipe the metal with a soft, lint-free cloth.

    • Rhodium-plating keeps sterling silver tarnish free for a long time, but will eventually wear away. Once the silver is more exposed, it will tend to blacken but can be polished back up with a silver cloth.

    • Keep your jewellery in a safe, dry place, ideally a jewellery box or pouch to prevent scratches or damage.
